The first integrated light storage and charging project in eastern Guangdong has landed and started construction in Shantou
Recently, the first distributed optical storage and charging integrated project in eastern Guangdong, the construction of the Smart Zero Carbon Demonstration Park in the Shantou High speed Railway Station commercial district, held a groundbreaking ceremony. This project integrates distributed photovoltaic, energy storage, charging piles and other facilities. After the project is completed, the energy storage power station will be able to analyze the demand for photovoltaic power generation and electric vehicle charging in real time through the energy management system, achieving low valley charging and peak discharge, and obtaining peak valley price difference benefits for electricity consuming enterprises.
The operation principle of "distributed photovoltaic energy storage and charging integration" is to form a microgrid consisting of three core components: photovoltaic power generation, energy storage system, and charging piles. By utilizing photovoltaic power generation, the electricity is stored in the energy storage battery. When needed, the energy storage battery supplies the electricity to the charging pile. Through the photovoltaic energy storage and charging system, this clean energy source, solar energy, is transferred to the power battery of the vehicle for use during driving.
It is reported that as an exploration and practice project of the smart zero carbon demonstration park, the project scale focuses on small but refined. In terms of photovoltaics, the station utilizes photovoltaic modules installed at the top of the carport, with an installed capacity of 16.5 kilowatts. It can generate about 20000 kilowatt hours of green electricity per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 13 tons; In terms of energy storage and charging, the station has two sets of 100 kilowatt hour sponge storage and charging cabinets, which can be used to charge 6 new energy vehicles simultaneously. Each set of sponge storage and charging cabinets is equipped with 10 energy storage battery packs, which can store 215 kilowatt hours of energy. The total output power of the station's energy storage can reach 200 kilowatts. When combined with photovoltaic power, it is equivalent to a virtual capacity increase of a transformer.
"During the day, the comprehensive energy control system will use sponge power technology to prioritize the green electricity generated by photovoltaic stations for vehicle charging, and the remaining electricity will be stored in the energy storage system for discharge during peak charging periods. When the energy storage system is fully charged and there is no vehicle charging, the green electricity generated by photovoltaic stations will be directly connected to the grid, achieving priority consumption of photovoltaic energy and on-site consumption of energy storage." said Shen Shuguang, manager of Guangdong Guang'ao Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
In terms of business model operation, the project has also undergone innovative exploration. In addition to providing technical consulting services for the project by Shantou Power Supply Bureau, the project has adopted a cooperative development model for the first time in various stages of investment, construction, and operation. It has collaborated with multiple high-quality enterprises, including Guangzhou Nevei Carbon Based Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Zhengchao Electric Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Guang'ao Energy Technology Co., Ltd., to jointly build the project. After the completion of the project, Guangdong Guang'ao Energy Technology Co., Ltd. took over the management and maintenance of the energy storage power station, providing exclusive services and one-stop solutions to the worries of electricity users. The close cooperation between power supply enterprises, energy storage investors, equipment suppliers, and construction and operation parties has achieved a win-win business model for all five parties, including electricity consuming enterprises. This provides a replicable and promotable demonstration model for the comprehensive promotion of energy storage, optical storage, or integrated light storage and charging projects.

In response to the national 'dual carbon' strategy, Guangdong Province promotes the high-quality development layout of the new energy storage industry, and Guangdong Power Grid carries out the construction of new power systems and modern power supply service systems, active exploration and practical implementation have been carried out." Huang Chaokai, General Manager of the Power Supply Service Center of Shantou Power Supply Bureau, introduced.

Based on the principles of adapting to local conditions and being flexible and diverse, it will support industrial and commercial enterprises, industrial parks and other electricity customers to build new energy storage power stations, jointly promote the development of Shantou's energy storage industry, respond to the national "dual carbon" strategic goals, deepen the construction of a modern power supply service system, and provide "cost reduction and excellent services" for Shantou's industrial and commercial enterprises, Add bricks and tiles to the path of "industrial development and industrial strength" for Shantou City.
